The Unidentified

The Unidentified
By: Rae Mariz

I would give this book 2 stars out of 5.

This book is about a 15-year old teen named Kid. She and her fellow students go to school in what is called the game. In the game, they are constinately being watched by sponsers. Their every move, conversation, and action are recorded and used by sponsers to brand a select number of teens who are apart of the game. Everything seems to be fine until a prank goes too far and disrupts the whole game. It follows Kid through her journey of finding out who planned the prank and what happens when she finds the Unidentified.

This book is ish. It wasn’t good but, at the same time, it wasn’t bad. At times, it got to be a little confusing and bland. When I first picked it up and read other reviews about it, it sounded really interesting and I couldn’t wait to buy and read it. However, it was boring and I found myself wanting to take breaks because it bored me so much. I also found that the characters didn’t really “come to life” as much as I would have liked. It was hard to get a feel on how the characters really were like because the author didn’t do a good job of describing them. Mariz made a good effort, but her writing wasn’t quite up to par.

Maximum Ride- The Angel Experiment

Maximum Ride- The Angel Experiment
By: James Patterson

Another fanatstic book that I would give 5 stars out of 5 stars!

Maximum Ride is a 14 year old not-so-average teen. While at first glance she looks completely normal, she is actually 2% avain (or bird). Maximum, or Max for short, has wings. Yes, that’s right, she can fly, like literally fly in the air. She has five other ‘siblings’ named Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gazzy, and Angel. Like her, they all too have wings. In this book, evil scientists kidnapp the youngest sibling, Angel, and Max and the others must race against time to save her.

James Patterson is one of my favorite authors. He writes for teens and you can see that throughout his writing. I love his writing style and how he can use his characters to relate to his readers. For example, one of the reasons why I love this book is because I can relate to Max’s personality so much. It makes the book just that much more fun and interesting to read! Patterson is also one of those authors that can create a mental picutre in the readers’ mind through writing, which is just awesome.

The Angel Experiment is the first book in the Maximum Ride Series. It is an amazing book in an even more amazing series. It is a must read book for every teen!

The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games
By: Suzanne Collins

This book is pretty amazing. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would literally give it a 15. I read it in about 8 hours and when it was over I was begging for more. Collins is an excellent and extremely skilled writer leaving readers hanging at every chapter.

The Hunger Games revolves around 17-year old Katniss Everdeen and her journey through ‘The Hunger Games’. The game is a fight to the death between 24 teenagers from all around the 13 districts. The winner of these games is guarenteed praise and unlimited money for the rest of their lives. In some districts where kids train all their lives for the game, it is considered an honor to be chosen to compete. However, in other districts, including Katniss’ district, being picked nearly means death. As Katniss goes through the game, she faces many challenges. They include, the simple task of working through family problems, to the not-so-simple task of staying alive.

Suzanne Collins really does a good job of making her characters come to life. Her writing includes so many descriptive words that allows the reader to picture the story in their mind. This is one of my favorite parts of the Hunger Games. I would classify this book as a very violent one so it is definitely not appropriate for all ages. I read it when i was 13 and I’d say thats a good age to read it. Even though it is violent, it has its fair share of romance and that just adds so much more to the book and makes it so much better. There are unlimited reasons on why you should read this book. I promise you, it is 100% worth your time to read The Hunger Games so get started!

Hello People!

Congradulations! Currently you are reading my very first blog post. Please continue!

This is a blog written for teens by teens! Basically, this site will discuss many different teen books; from fantasy to mystery. I read a lot of books and have much to say on all of them. I will tell you how fantastic they are or how hideous they turn out to be! I also have a long list of great authors that I would love to share with you guys! I also Trust me, reading this will be worth your time!

Many blogs and sites give away the plot and ending of the book they are discussing. This horrifies me because then there is no point in reading the book if I already know how it is going to end. I assure you, that will not happen here! I will give you advice and a short summary on the book without giving anything away!

Please feel free to talk about and comment on any of my posts because that is the reason I even put this blog up on the web. Even though I have read a lot of books, I haven’t read everything out there in the world. You can comment by clicking on the comment tab to request a book for me to read, write about, and/or discuss and I will be sure to work on it ASAP.
